Cream colour makeup, be it skincare foundation or multi-tasking pots of colour for eyes, cheeks and lips is certainly trending. Doing more with less and doing it naturally will change your makeup game and your skin. We talked with Ash Quinn our favourite MUA and the guru of natural looking makeup application, on her top tips for using cream colour.
If your skin is feeling tight, dry and tired from the winter cold and constant indoor heating you’re not alone. When it comes to makeup, I find myself reaching for products that will help reduce that dry feeling and be more comfortable to wear, which means cream colour products!

Not only because it’s a cream to powder foundation which means it’s not drying, but it also sets down which eliminates the need to apply powder to lock it in place. You can blend it out with your fingers for a light sheer application or build the coverage to a medium to full coverage using a brush or sponge.

Why we love this formula?
The super smooth and creamy texture is weightless on the skin due to a base of natural plant oils like Meadowfoam seed oil, that is a moisturising superhero without leaving a greasy feel, and Vitamin E which is beneficial for all-round skin health. This clean formula will not clog the pores so ideal for acne prone skin, it helps balance excess oil so great for oily skin and the creamy formula doesn’t look cakey on dry skin types. And the bonus, this easy-to-use stick foundation is ideal for spot touch ups on the go, fits easily into your handbag and the solid form means no mess or spills!
Creams are one of my favourite ways to add colour to the face no matter the season. MANASI 7 have an incredible range of high performing, gorgeous, wearable, and easy to use cream products that you can use in a multitude of ways. In today’s video I’ve used their All Over Colour in the shade “Bisque” on eyes and cheeks. I also love popping a bit of blush on the ball of my chin and temples because I find it helps to give a more natural look. You can even place a bit on the bridge of your nose which has become quite popular thanks to a bunch of Instagram and TikTok filters that give that effect. Your cheeks aren’t the only area you flush after all.

Finishing off colour with what could possibly be my favourite everyday lip colour of all time, MADAME GABRIELA “Sydney at 8am”. This is a universally flattering shade (and it can also double as a cream colour for the face.) Not only is the colour perfect but the formula of this product is divine. It’s infused with healing antibacterial Manuka honey plus shea butter, avocado, sunflower and rosemary oil which gives a good dose of rich nutrients to support collagen production and minimise wrinkles. They’ve also included chamomile flowers, bergamot and ylang ylang for their soothing effects.

And last but not least, an everyday essential product for me – mascara. Here I’ve used the AU NATURALE Bold Statement Vegan mascara.
