Unlocking the Power of Manasi 7: Exploring Beauty Beyond Clean
Manasi 7 is on a mission to simplify beauty whilst enhancing it by bridging the gap between conventional makeup products and natural organic ingredients.
Vanessa at The NATIVES Co. (TNC) spoke with the lovely Erin, Aesthetician and Product Trainer at Luxe Botanics( LB). Erin is not only super knowledgeable but super fun to talk with… she exudes true passion for organic skincare! We sat down with the source herself and asked Erin the Luxe questions we are most asked by YOU.
Q. Vanessa (TNC): What makes Luxe Botanics skincare unique?
A. Erin (LB): Luxe Botanics focuses on formulating with 3 globally sourced, clinically proven actives that are harvested in partnership with local cooperatives that uplift the community. The formulations are created by a biological scientist (Jene) and designed to enhance the 3 natural actives to target specific skin concerns. Luxe Botanics is dedicated to meaningful give back through B1G1 to directly uplift communities through community led projects. And finally, as part of a holistic ethos dedicated to supporting not just sustainable ingredient sourcing, we also focus on packaging that is easily reusable and commonly recycled.
Q. Vanessa (TNC): We’ve always wanted to work with Luxe Botanics, one driving force for us is the clean and pure formulations. Are the formulations 100% natural including the preservatives?
A.Erin (LB): Formulations are 100% natural and naturally derived – this is something Modern Cosmetics assess, and we passed with flying colors. We focus on ingredients that are EU Eco-certified approved (either certified organic or approved).
I’m sure you know Vanessa, but preservatives are necessary in aqueous formulations (that’s formulations that contain water or hydrosols). Preservatives prevent microbial spoilage that would make the product unsafe. They kill microorganisms and waterborne bacteria and prevent mold and yeast from forming. We use Potassium Sorbate in our Kigelia line and Camu Mist, it is salt derived and naturally sourced.

Q. Vanessa (TNC): Erin, you have amazing skin and as an Aesthetician, what are your recommended products for a simple anti-aging regime?
A. Erin (LB): A proper cleansing technique is key, I recommend a Double Cleanse, nothing harsh, avoiding foaming cleansers. The use of an active in the form of Vitamin C is vital, I use the Luxe Camu Brightening Line. Ample, proper hydration via a Sodium Hyaluronate in the Camu Mist or the Marula Oil. And for Day – full sun protection.
Vanessa TNC: So Erin in summary my Luxe anti-ageing routine looks like this…. Double Cleanse with Marula Pre Cleanser followed by Camu Cleanser, hydrate with Camu Mist, layer Marula Serum to seal in moisture and restore and finish with the Camu Moisturizer for your daily dose of Vitamin C.
Simple and highly efficient!
Q. Vanessa TNC: Erin, I have so many people ask me what they can use post laser treatments or dermal needling. What Luxe products do you recommend for post treatment skin?
A. Erin (LB): Kigelia serum and the Kigelia moisturiser all the way! Kigelia is a powerful anti-inflammatory, with antimicrobial and antibacterial benefits. The molecules within the Kigelia plant trigger the cell to repair the DNA, your skin cells are triggered to repair themselves. The Kigelia also contains Niacinamide which reduces redness, builds lipid function and is a powerful antioxidant beneficial in warding off future damage.
In addition to Kigelia, the rose, cucumber and Sodium Hyaluronate found in our Camu Mist is A+ after a treatment.
Q. Vanessa (TNC): As Australians, we generally live in the sun 9 months of the year, that comes with one of the most common skin concerns I see and talk to many of our Tribe about. What 2 LUXE products will help fade pigmentation?
A. Erin (TNC): Camu Serum + Camu Moisturizer. Vitamin C is a must. Strong emphasis on sunblock and the proper application of sunblock.
Q. Vanessa (TNC): If I have acne concerns and oily skin, what are the benefits of using an oil if I’m already concerned about my oily skin?
A.Erin (LB): When cleansing, like dissolves like: oil will break down oil in the skin and remove debris, sebum and sunblock, while keeping moisture barrier intact.
Why apply oil directly: When our skin is stripped of its natural oils (from cleansing, harsh actives, synthetics) the skin likes to overcompensate by actually producing more oil, often leading to adverse effects. Depletion of certain fatty acids can lead to acne and infected skin conditions. This becomes a vicious cycle of stripping/ overproducing, stripping/overproducing. It’s important to note that many types of acne products can have an overly drying effect, which can sometimes make acne worse by irritating already sensitive skin. By applying a topical oil, the skin is hydrated, nourished and overtime will stop overcompensating and balance itself out. In short, oil will regulate oil production. Oil will remove excess sebum while keeping lipid barrier intact.
Vanessa (TNC): Nothing is truer or more beneficial for oily problematic skin, Marula hydrating Pre-cleanser is a must. The results for those that trust to make the switch, are amazing.

Q. Vanessa (TNC): As I head rapidly towards my mid 40’s, my main priority is firming, what LUXE products help with firmness and elasticity?
A. Erin (LB): The skin will look firmer when moist and properly hydrated. Traditional uses for kigelia were used to firm the skin, and the peptides we use in it show anecdotal temporary firming effects. Vitamin C is great for producing collagen and elastin and helps increase cell turnover. Combined it looks like this…
LUXE routine for more plump, hydrated skin:
Double Cleanse + Camu Mist + Camu Serum + Marula Serum + Kigelia moisturizer
Erin’s Beauty Tip: Clareblend Mini is the handheld microcurrent device I am currently using and loving! Our Kigelia moisturizer + Salt water makes the perfect conductor for it!
Q. Vanessa (TNC): What are the benefits of pre-cleansing? And do you recommend a double cleanse?
A. Erin (LB): It all comes back to the health of the moisture barrier. As you know, so many skin issues stem from a compromised moisture barrier. You will also get a much more thorough cleanse by double cleansing. Your skin is then in an optimal state to take in the next stage of your regime. You will get more from your skincare regime with this simple extra step.
Q. Vanessa (TNC): What is the benefit of adding the Camu Mist to my regime?
A. Erin (LB): All skin types can benefit from adding a humectant into their routine! Hyaluronic Acid/Sodium Hyaluronate binds moisture into the skin. The mist is lightweight, soothing and incredibly hydrating. I wish everyone would use this product, or at the very least, incorporate some type of lightweight sodium hyaluronate into their routine.
Vanessa: Erin I hear you, and I couldn’t agree more! I use the Camu Mist mid afternoon as a skin boost when I reapply my lipstick. It’s the perfect size for my handbag.

Q. Vanessa (TNC): Can I use the products under my eyes as an eye cream?
A. Erin (LB): Absolutely! My personal favorite under eyes is Camu mist + Camu Serum + Camu Moisturizer. However, we are in the works of developing an eye cream, hopefully late 2020 so stay tuned…..
