Founder Bio- Melissa Obeid

Melissa’s love affair with France was ignited whilst studying at The Paris Fashion Institute in the 90’s. She worked with the biggest names in the fashion world extending these experiences to senior fashion roles back in Australia, followed by a stellar career in high-level arts management. Melissa’s passion for clean beauty led her to initiate the development and commercialisation of a suite of Australian Made, 100% natural beauty products created under Proprietary brands sold nationwide. This was an Australian first.

After three years of intense research, development and extensive testing, LA FERVANCE was born.

Mountain Harvest™ AF is a bioactive complex derived from 3 mountain herbs and spices native to Australia, Aniseed Myrtle Leaf, Mountain Pepper Leaf and Wild Rosella Flower. It is the solution for optimal skin protection and regeneration. This unique botanical combination will protect against the harmful effects of free radicals, soothe and rejuvenate the skin.

Aniseed Myrtle (or Licorice Myrtle) is an Australian native mountain rainforest tree. It yields fragrant leaves with a rich aniseed aroma. Aniseed Myrtle and Mountain Pepper Leaf are both a good source of antioxidant compounds, lutein, folate, vitamin C, vitamin E and vitamin A. Rich in minerals like zinc, magnesium and calcium which are required for collagen synthesis and self-repair of DNA.

Mountain Pepper is native to mountainous South Eastern lands of Australia. It is a hardy species, tolerating cold winter temperatures and surviving on rocky and exposed windy sites. Mountain Pepper leaf contains an active molecule called Polygodial which is associated with antimicrobial and anti-inflammatory activities.

Wild Rosella is native to the mountains of far Northern Australia. Wild Rosella plant is known for its medicinal virtue. The heated leaves were traditionally applied to sores, wounds and ulcers to speed up healing.  Wild Rosella contains proteins, carbohydrates, anthocyanins, AHAs (citric acid & malic acid), hibiscus acid and vitamin C.

What does the La Fervance Conflict free Gold do for the Skin? LA FERVANCE fine gold dust penetrates through the pores, draining lymph nodes and helps to eliminate impurities. Kakadu Plum is loaded with antioxidants, which help protect your skin from environmental damage, like UV damage and pollution while being rich in additional lesser-known antioxidants like Gallic acid (good for restoring the skin’s natural barrier) and Ellagic acid (helps restore elasticity to skin).

LA FERVANCE collaborated with a unique Cosmos Certified All Natural Parfumery in the Perfume Capital of the world, Grasse. The brief was simple, to design the most amazing Cosmos Fragrances to entice the senses. The result, a warm and woody grounded fragrance that soothes the soul and creates a sense of well-being.

Sustainably Sourced Natural Ingredients

The ingredients in every LA FERVANCE product are traceable and of 100% natural origins, and all ingredients are sustainably-sourced and COSMOS-certified for sustainability. All products are free from propylene glycol and micro beads, and they do not use any harsh chemicals. They are also microplastic-free, and their organic ingredients are certified by ECOCERT. All of their ingredients are traceable, and they offer their community the opportunity to understand where each ingredient comes from and what its purpose is.

Recyclable Packaging

All of LA FERVANCE packaging is 100% recyclable and COSMOS-certified, using glass primary packaging and FSC-accredited, fine Italian made papers for their cartons. All of the glass used in their product packaging is recyclable and they are investigating a refill program to enable consumers to purchase product refills for their existing jars and bottles instead of purchasing replacement products in brand new packaging.

Social Responsibility

LA FERVANCE uses European made glass packaging wherever possible and is deeply committed to reducing the amount of plastic found in waterways. They intend to work with companies which remove plastic from the oceans and are also committed to preserving forests and halting land degradation and biodiversity loss. The use of French and European made packaging and many key ingredients minimizes the impact of transporting goods to their production facilities in France.

Fair Pay and Labour

Made in France, LA FERVANCE abides by European laws that govern health and safety and work closely with their suppliers to ensure they do as well. As such, many of their suppliers have won multiple awards for corporate responsibility, sustainability, welfare and innovation. As LA FERVANCE is a female-led business, they have an equal pay policy, and gender equality is an integral part of their company ethos.

Minimal Waste

Along with their own commitments to protecting the environment, LA FERVANCE does, and will continue to work only with suppliers who operate in a sustainable and environmentally safe way. They have developed water-free products which will be released in 2020 and continue to encourage this type of innovation, both within their own company and with their suppliers. They are working to reduce waste across their business model and minimise their water usage, too. All of the employees throughout their supply chain are educated on these policies via a video tutorial.

Give Back

As a woman and a mother, the plight of poor and disadvantaged children is crucial to Melissa’s being, particularly after the global pandemic of Covid-19, which is why FERVANCE has partnered with the Save the Children fund, given their enormous respect for the work this organisation carries out to eradicate the suffering of children around the world.
